The Beach

We went to Lincoln City this last weekend. We left Friday after work and spent the night. We knew it was going to be hot (102 degrees) at home. We had the best time. L.C. was having their kite festival on Saturday. It was nice to see the kites. Halli really didn't care about the kites. She just wanted to play in the sand and run through the ocean. She's such a nature girl.

I will post pictures later. We had such a wonderful time making memories. Halli got to stay up till 10:30. That is way past bedtime. Some people decided they should set off fireworks in front of our room. We pulled up chairs and watched. Once they were over Halli went right to sleep. She was excited that she got to sleep in a "BIG" bed all by herself. I thought she would want me to sleep with her because she is always asking me to sleep in her room at home. But no, she wanted the bed all to herself.

It is soooo much fun to see her excitment over what God created. I'm not much of a beach lover. But I'm learning to like it just so Halli can enjoy it. We are blessed to be living in the NorthWest. :)

China

Andy's mom goes to China every July to "teach English". She loves it. This is her third time going. She goes with Andy's brother, Josh. He runs an organization called, China Roads (I think that is the name).

Andy was picking up Halli on Friday and Halli said she needed to pray for Grandma going to China. Andy said she said the sweetest prayer and Grandma almost cried. I was so proud of her. My sweet 4yr old knows the power of prayer. She wants Jesus to protect her Grandma and bring her back safely. :)

Mother's Day

I know it is way past Mother's Day, but I wanted to share anyway. My sweet little girl and my dear husband always give me such a special Mother's Day. We went out for breakfast to our favorite restaurant. Halli had a "Happy Pancake". I should have taken a picture. She was so excited about it. She said it even tasted better than my pancakes. She ate almost the whole thing. It was a very large pancake with chocolate chips, whipping cream and butter. I think she was more excited about the butter. Don't know why she loves butter sooooo much!

Mother's Day is always so special to me. I gave a little gift to Halli thanking her for being my daughter. I told her before she was born I wanted to be a mommy so bad. And after she was born I got to be her mommy. Her little face smiled at me the whole time. I then got a big hug.

Halli lately has asked some tough questions, but I always answer them with love and honesty. I don't show her that on the inside I'm freakin out. I always want her to know that she can ask me anything. The other day she said that I'm her best friend and favorite mom. You gotta love that. :)

I'll have to post later about Andy's Father's Day. Halli had a definite plan!

Dinner

One of Halli's "chores" is setting the table. I usually hand her the plates, silverware, and cups. This time she said she could do it herself. I handed her the plates, but she put them where she wanted everyone to sit and then she got the silverware by herself from the drawer.
She then put the silverware on the table. She then told me that she made clocks. My little creative sweet pea. You never know what she is going to do. I'm just glad that she does her "chores" and uses her imagination.
So, if you come over dinner you never know how the table is going to look. :)
