update

It's been awhile since I posted. Everything is going well with the adoption. We are still waiting to hear how we are going to be funding this. We are having a garage sale as our first fundraiser. If you have anything you would like to contribute, send me an e-mail or leave a comment. :)

I am having fun going through baby clothes. They are so small. I'm having a hard time staying away from the stores and not buying anything. :) Halli bought Hope a book the other day. She is now saying it is hers. I reminded her that she picked it out for Hope. She told me that it's always good to share, so Hope is sharing her book.

In the last post I said that Halli was singing a song about Hope but I couldn't hear the words. Andy said that she was singing, that she wish she had little wings so she could fly and bring Hope back. How cute. She really wants her sister here.

Yesterday at church Halli was with us. She has been having a hard time in her class since they moved the kids up. Well, it was time for offering and Halli told me she wanted to give some money to God. Of course we gave her some. She then asked me how do we get the money up to heaven to give to God. :)

Well, that's it for now. I'll have to post some pictures later. Halli and I had some messy fun over the weekend. It was messy, but she had soooo much fun! Andy also survived doing Hood to Coast!

Halli will be a big sister

Thank you everyone for your prayers concerning Halli. I wanted to share with you that we did tell Halli that she is going to be big sister. She is really excited! She told us all the things she is going to share with her, teach her and how she is going to protect her. We are so very proud of her. Prayer works!!

We were at Target yesterday and Halli told me we needed to buy Hope some diapers. I let her pick out a package. I have forgotten how small newborn diapers are. I asked Halli if she wanted to pick out some yarn so I could knit Hope a blankie like hers. She didn't want to. She said that Hope can use some of her old baby blankies that she's not using. I'm such a proud mom!

When Andy was putting Hal to bed I could hear her singing. I couldn't understand the words. Andy came down later and said that she was singing a song about Hope. He couldn't remember all the words. :( I wish I would have snuck upstairs and recorded her. I'm sure I will be hearing more songs from her.

Our little Hope

I can finally share our news. We are adopting! Our little girl is due September 25. Her name will be Hope Marie. We are very excited. It is amazing how God has put this all together. From the time I wrote down my prayer request regarding adoption till the time we spoke with the birthmother it has only been three weeks. We are still a little shocked that this is all happening. God is faithful and always gives me hope. I will explain more later on how we chose the name Hope.

We will be telling Halli this weekend that she is going to be a big sister. It's going to be hard for awhile. Halli doesn't care for babies and has made it clear that she only wants a 4yr old sister. She is also a very jealous little girl. I can't even hold a baby with out her coming over and wanting to be in my lap also. So, much prayer is needed with little Halli.

One more thing about adoption. It is very expensive. Since we were not expecting this we do not have any money saved for it. We are working on a few things to see if we can get some kind of loan. We are trusting God that he has brought us this far and will continue to do miracles at the Vance's.

Anyone want to have a jewelry show? :)

Can't wait till our little Hope is born and can post pictures of her and pictures of Alaska. Did I mention that is where Hope will be born?

I'm anxious to share

I need to talk with Andy first before I can share, but a little hint. It is always good to have a little hope.

Exciting News

We received exciting news tonight. I can't wait to share with everyone. I will probably have to wait a few days before I can share everything. Some of you received the late night phone call already. I can say that God is very good to our family!
