Father's day fun!

The girls love their daddy.  They made him a special card.  Halli wrote the poem and Hope put the candy on.  She really wanted to eat the candy.  Silly girl.

Thank you pinterest for another excellent idea!

We went to the park for some fun.  The girls love playing at the park!

They are sooooo silly.  Such a perfect day to celebrate my hubby.  He's such a great dad.  He loves his girls, but more importantly he loves his God and me. :)  Thank you Andy for being a great dad!

Even though I don't talk about the girls birth fathers, I am thankful for them as well.  With out them too, their would be no Halli or Hope.

Mother's Day

Love, love, love my girls.  They are such little blessings. I waited so long for God to bless me with a child and so happy that He chose to bless me twice with these two.  Also, I could not ever forget about their birthmoms.  Because of their courage and love I can be called "mom".

Halli really wanted to go for a pedicure.  So, we did.  It was Hope's first time and my first time with my girls.  We even got our nails done too.  It was a GREAT day.

Mother's Day Tea

I love Mother's Day Tea at Hope's preschool.  It is something I look forward to all year.  Hope was sooooooo excited.  She had been telling me for weeks that she was going to sing to me.  As soon as her class came in Hope was saying, "HI MOM"!!!  It was so cute.

Look at that sweet face.  Pure joy!

 Hi Mom!

Parent's House Fire

I'm finally getting around to updating my blog.  Back in Dec. my parents house caught fire three days before Christmas.  I received a call at 6:30 in the morning from my mother.  It's never good to get late or early morning phone calls.  She was crying and saying their house was on fire.  I first asked if everyone was out and she said yes.  We then got dressed and drove down to Albany.  I wasn't really prepared for what I saw.  There where three fire trucks there and they were putting the last of the fire out.  From outside, the house didn't look that bad.  But when you went inside it was devasting.  The pictures below are from when I went back the next day and started working on clean up.

We had many friends and family and people we didn't even know step up and help.  It has been such a blessing to my parents and family.

This is the kitchen.  The fire started in the attic which is just above the kitchen.  Everything was lost here.

This is my brother's room, right next to the attic.  If he hadn't been home and woken up, my parents wouldn't have woken up and gotten out.  We thank God every day that Dave was home and that he did wake up and smell the smoke and woke my parents up.

This is my childhood dresser.  I'm so sad to see it destroyed.  It was my Great Grandmother's and I loved it.  There where so many other treasures from my Grandparent's and Great Grandparent's that where lost.

My parent's are now in another rental house and are slowly buying new furniture, clothes and all the other small stuff you don't realize you don't have till you go to use it.  I have so much more empathy for people that go through a fire.  You just don't realize how devasting it is.

Easter

The girls made Resurrection Gardens.  It was a great way to talk about Easter and what it is and means.  Hope didn't really understand, but starting the foundation.

Cupcakes!

Finally made some cupcakes and have time to upload them to the blog. :)  Made a Mocha cupcake and a Tiramisu Cupcake.  Andy said they taste great!  I don't like coffee, so I won't get to try these.  It was hard even standing the smell of espresso while making the Mocha Cupcake.  The things you do to make a cupcake.  Here's a couple of pics.  Someday I'll take better pics.
