1st Birthday Bash

Hope's 1st Birthday!

I can't believe my baby is one. The year has gone by so fast. What a blessing our little Hope is. After we adopted Halli I didn't think we would really be able to adopt again. But, God had other plans for our family. With a simple prayer request, an e-mail and a phone call we were going to be parents again.
Hope has such personality! She always tells us what she is thinking. Most of the time it is by yelling at us. She is saying more words. She can say, "mama", "dada", "kitty", "meow", "woof", "bye", "quack" and "moo". She says a lot of animal sounds. :) He favorite word is kitty. She says it all the time.
Miss Hope loves music. Anytime she hears music she starts dancing. It is really cute. It doesn't matter if the music is on t.v., the radio, a toy or if you sing a song. She will start dancing. It's really cute when she starts clapping to the music.
Hope also really loves soft things. She has a couple of stuffed animals she really likes and a couple of blankets. She likes to hold onto the ears of her stuffed animal and hold it against her cheek and suck her thumb. She also likes to lay down on her blanket and suck her thumb.
Have I mentioned how much she loves food? The girl loves to eat. I don't think there is anything she doesn't like. Sometimes she is a very slow eater and can eat more than Halli. Hope loves mashed potatoes. She also likes fruit. I hope she continues to be a good eater.
Hope got some adorable clothes. I know this blue outfit will look really cute on her. Her blue eyes will look even more blue.

Grandma got her this big giraffe pillow. It is super soft. Hope already likes to lay on it.

Hope's birthgrandma, Charity, made a scrapbook for Hope. We opened and only made it to the first page. The first page was a picture of Corina on her 1st birthday. For some reason I got really emotional and had to put the book away. I later looked at it and found Charity and her other daughter Sarah had each written a letter to Hope. It was a very thoughtful gift.

I am so thankful that Corina chose us to be Hope's parents. I can't imagine my life with out her.

Hope's birthday cake.

Hope did try and blow her candle out. She's much better at blowing on her food to cool it down so she can eat. Halli ended up blowing the candle out.

Hope wasn't a very messy eater. I think she didn't like everyone looking at her.

She is now all done. As you can see, she didn't eat much of her cake. That's ok, because Halli helped her later.

Our guests. We had to move the party to our house. It rained all morning. Of course this was the only day it rained all week. We still enjoyed our party.

Our family. :)

What a beautiful post. I can't imagine looking through that scrapbook and any eye remaining dry. What a precious gift.
