Cupcake Adventure #4 - Yellow Buttermilk Cupcake w/ White Fluffy Frosting

Time for a basic yellow cupcake. This cupcake was really easy to make. The buttermilk did make it really moist.

Don't they look yummy? They baked up nicely!

Time for frosting! Since it's close to St. Patrick's Day, I added some green sprinkles. The girls love the sprinkles!

I was recently at the coast for a scrapbook retreat and of course did a little bit of shopping. Look at this cute cupcake stand. I bought two of them. If they had more, I probably would have got them all. Can't wait to use these for all kinds of fun around the house.

By the way, Andy took the cupcakes to work and everyone enjoyed them.

Our Journey to Hope

July 22nd - Carey writes prayer request at church. Not sure if we should pursue adoption now or later. Very unclear on what we should do.

July 24th - Rhonda, Women's Director at church, sends Carey an e-mail from Heritage Adoption Agency. They are looking for a family for a baby girl due in September in Alaska. There were very specific requirments the birthmother was looking for.

July 24th - Carey replied to e-mail then called Andy and told him about the e-mail and that she replied.

July 24th - Agency responds, they want to talk to us.

July 25th - Carey talks to agency. They want us to put together a profile and get a copy of our last homestudy. Profile needs to be done before August 8th.

August 8th - By the grace of God, profile is done and at the agency. Andy was able to connect with the case worker and have a good conversation with her.

August 9th - Case worker leaves for Alaska with our profile and four others.

August 12th - Birthmother is chosing today and we are waiting.

August 12th - Case worker calls that evening. Andy is out of town and Carey gets the phone call. Case worker tells Carey that the birthmother chose us and doesn't want anyone else. She really, really likes us! Carey calls Andy, after she stops crying, and tells him that we have been chosen.

August 14th - We have our first phone call with Corina and her mother, Charity.

August 14th - till present - Carey has daily e-mails with birthmother.

September 19th - 8:15am Alaska case worker calls Carey to tell her that Corina is in labor and we need to catch a plane. Our case worker gets our homestudy worker to our house and we complete our homestudy. We then pack, do some shopping and head to Alaska.

September 19th - 2:23 pm Hope is born, 9lbs. 2oz, 21". We reach Anchorage at midnight and meet our daughter.

September 26th - We fly back home to Portland and rejoice the miracle God has given us.
